FAQ & Resource Center
Quick answers to common questions about our structure, pricing, and services.
Service Scope and Credentials
Are you a CPA firm or a Law Firm?
No. Hennig Financial LLC is neither a CPA firm nor a law firm. We specialize in tax preparation, bookkeeping, and consulting services. We do not provide legal advice or financial statement audit/review services.
What authority do you have to deal with the IRS?
As a non-credentialed tax preparer, Ron Hennig has very limited representation rights. We cannot represent you before the IRS on matters such as audits or appeals. However, we can assist you in preparing responses or organizing documents for you to submit. If you require full representation (Power of Attorney), we recommend engaging an Enrolled Agent (EA), CPA, or Tax Attorney.
What types of businesses are NOT a fit for your services?
We specialize in simplified services for individuals and small businesses. We **cannot** accept clients who require audited financial statements, have annual revenues over $5 million, are publicly traded, or have complex international tax structures. Please see the Service Scope on the Pricing tab for a full list of exclusions.
Pricing and Discounts
Can I pay my tax preparation fees out of my refund?
Yes. We partner with a bank to offer a "Pay With My Refund" option (Bank Product) for a base fee of $82.90. This allows our preparation fees to be deducted directly from your refund, so you pay nothing upfront.
Refund Advance: Qualified taxpayers can apply for a Refund Advance of up to $1,000 at NO COST (0% APR) once the IRS acknowledges the return. Larger interest-bearing loans (up to $7,000) are also available subject to bank approval.
Disbursement Methods: Funds can be received via Direct Deposit, FasterMoney® Visa Prepaid Card, or Check.
Note: Card and check printing fees may apply. We will review the full bank fee schedule with you prior to signing so there are no surprises.

Why do some services cost more if my records are messy?
Pricing for items like Schedule C preparation increases if we have to spend multiple hours organizing bank statements, categorizing transactions, or reconciling funds. Our interactive calculator prices services based on **clean, summarized data**, which is why cleanup fees are often required upfront.
How can I find out if I qualify for a discount?
We offer limited promotional discounts for early clients, specific community members, and local businesses in the New Jersey area. These discounts are applied via a unique access code on the quote estimator. Please feel free to reach out to Ron or Mikaela directly to see if any discount codes are currently available for your situation.
HR and Payroll Compliance
Is your HR Advisory Retainer legal advice?
No. Our HR support is for administrative guidance, process best practices, and compliance questions only. For employment law matters, complex legal contracts, or litigation support, we strongly recommend consulting a licensed attorney.
What is the advantage of using a formal Cash Controls Review?
As a former auditor, Ron identifies weaknesses in how you handle cash, approve expenses, and manage payroll access. This prevents internal fraud and ensures your financial records are properly substantiated.
